Nearly 1,500 Reports of Severe Weather Last Weekend, March 14-16

What a start to the 2025 spring storm season! A high-impact storm system (okay, to be fair, there were a couple big waves at play here) swept through the Central, Southern, and Eastern U.S. with a rash of severe weather reports.


The multi-day severe weather outbreak began on Friday with fast-moving storms producing corridors of wind damage and tornadoes in the Midwest, before a more classic supercell and tornado outbreak ramped up across the South on Saturday. Sunday flipped back to the fast-moving windy storm mode with widespread wind damage from the Great Lakes to the Gulf Coast.
