Today's Weather Summary:
A fast-moving Alberta Clipper will track out of the Dakotas this morning and into the Great Lakes by tonight. Along and north of the storm track winter storm conditions are occurring across North Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin with light snow spreading into Michigan and northern portions of Illinois and Indiana later today. South of the storm track high winds gusting 50 to 70 mph will cause travel disruptions and spotty power outages across much of South Dakota and Nebraska into western portions of Iowa.
There may be a sneaky corridor of travel slow-downs from Des Moines to Indianapolis, or across portions of central and eastern Iowa, northern and central Illinois, and central Indiana, where a wintry mix of rain, sleet, and snow showers may lead to slick roads and surfaces as temperatures fall overnight.
Snow, sleep, and rain showers continue east into Indiana, Ohio, and northern Indiana tomorrow morning as much colder air settles into the region. We'll bottom out this weekend before the entire region trends warmer heading into next week.
