The Cubs will host the Fathers this week after stealing a Counsell revenge-series W from the Brewers. 6:40p Night Games on tap for the first two, followed by a 1:20 getaway game on Wednesday. A multi-day severe weather outbreak is ongoing in the central U.S. - but Chicago not really one of the cities in the bullseye this round. However, with an active pattern overall, there are going to be a few storms to dodge.
Monday appears to be the easy gem, with temps in the "dazzler" range. Temps in the low 60s, mostly clear skies, low humidity, and just a light breeze in from RF off the lake. Not a thing to worry about other than baseball itself. Maps: College of DuPage
Strong storms reach the city Tuesday morning as the central US storm lumbers east. The core of the severe risk will be further south & east after our morning storms clear. We'll watch for an outside shot at a storm throughout the Tuesday evening game window, but not looking too shabby. Temps should stay warm, in the low 70s. Winds out to CF 10-15, occasionally gusty.
By Wednesday afternoon, our next system is still lingering to the west, so we see yet another chance for an isolated shower or storm throughout, without anything too obvious to pick out yet as far as issues. Have to watch to see if this timing holds as we get closer. Increasing clouds, wind in from RF off the lake 10-20mph, and temps probably a pinch cooler than suggested closer to the lake, upper 60s to low 70s.
Overall, a totally acceptable home series sequence here for early May. A slam dunk followed by two with no immediate uh-oh's that deserve some radar watching day-of. Nothing too crazy. We're taking It. Let's go Cubs.
